So, in good med school fashion, I need to update my blog.. at 3 am... when I could be board studying or sleeping, says the girl who's always tired. Anywhoo, just finished watching a movie, ok you can stop judging right now. I didn't know what my life was missing until I watched No Strings Attached. Ashton Kutcher is my movie star boyfriend after all. Well you know, after Channing Tatum. Move over Demi. It was a cute little movie. I'm sad that I waited this long to see it.
It resonated a little. The lead female character is resident who's emotionally stunted and weird. For a hot minute I identified with her, then I realized it was just the scrubs. Speaking of scrubs. I just realized I own not one pair. Perhaps, I should get on getting some. Neither here nor there..back to the movie. I reccomend it. Annnnnd you get a butt shot of Mr. Demi Moore. Just saying.... Dear Ashton just does it for me. I'm not sure why. He's so average.
NSYNC asks "If I wasn't a celebrity, would you still wanna be with me".. I seriously pondered that question. I have an answer. If you weren't a celebrity, I wouldn't know who in the world you were. Justin Tim, you'd just be some 30 (probably still with a fro) something living in Tennessee. Like our paths would meet and if they did I would say "hey, look at the white boy with a fro, bless his heart" So to answer your question, JT, no.. I wouldn't still wanna be with you. Ashton, maybe.

I have to make a general comment. Most white people look alike. This is coming from the girl who gets mistaking for the only other dark skinned chick at school. In fact, Jess and I have thought to make t-shirt with our names on them so people can tell the difference. See, aside from the chocolate toned skin. We look nothing a like.

Kinda distorted images, but clearly we do not look alike. Get with it white people! But back to my point... everywhere I go, I seem to run into people that remind me of a friend I know. Generally, I can name exactly who the person looks like. Seeing as if my friends are 98% of the Caucasian variety (I'm totally not racist, I have white friends), I've come to the conclusion that white people look alike. I'm not sure why I just went on my white people look alike but I don't look like Jess rant. I'm better now.
I tried to learn Igbo one evening. I spoke all of 1 phrase. Called the paternal and was super thrilled to say "kedu, i mere" which means "how do you do?" Turns out the website I used was a different dialect than what my dad spoke so he kinda understood what I was saying. Not all is lost though. I seriously cracked up for 30 minutes while learning that phrase (shut it, I'm slow). I'm not sure why I was so amused but I was. I think it's because the guy on the website sounded like my uncle and I am terrible at Igbo. But I'd play a phrase, giggle, say the phrase, crack up hysterically and repeat. If you want a good laugh,
http://www.igbo911.com/index2.htm there you go. Rosetta Stone needs to get her act together and make a program for the specific dialect of Igbo that my father and his peeps speak. Who do I need to call?
My passport keeps giving me the stink eye. As if to say 'yeah, I see how you really feel. you used me once, like 5 years ago.. that's ok.. just remember, I will expire right around the time you get your act together and use me again'. With that being said, I feel like possibly learning a new language would help me get my passport on. Ok, so the language barrier isn't really the issue. Can I make a confession? I am a very picky eater. I'm petrified of going somewhere where Mcdonald's isn't down the street. I know they have something I can eat. Dad keeps talking like he wants to go to Nigeria and take the sister and me and such. Part of me is a like, yay!! I get to meet the fam. Meet the potential husbands my uncle has found for me. I get to get down tribal style. But the eating traditions among the Igbo folks is one that makes me cringe. It is considered rude if someone cooks and you don't eat. Regardless of if you're hungry or not. You eat and most of the time the food contains tripe and random sea creatures. I'm not looking forward to it. Maybe real Nigerian food cooked in Nigeria will please my palate. Ok loves, enough rambling. Til I see you again! <3
