This ain't lust.. I know this is love

It's love Adele! I'm rocking out to Miss Adele instead of studying. I know folks it's been forever since I updated... like September... but I've been busy doctorin' and such. I see one of my favoritest bloggers called it quits. Tear. At any rate... here's some updates on my life:
  1. Exactly 397 days from today and I will forever more be known as Dr. Meagan
  2. I may have some exciting traveling ventures in my future but only time will tell
  3. I think I want to deliver babies for the rest of my life
  4. I've become such a slacker
  5. I jumped on the Hunger Games bandwagon... pretty good series.
That's all I got for the moment folks... buuuuuut I'll try to update more regularly.

What's better than free from infection?

The fact that some crazy folks  from Germany and Canada have read at least one of my posts. That's pretty awesome. But even better than that? Getting a phone number! But not just any phone number... but a guy from match sent me his phone number! I know... best thing ever right? Please take a moment to indulge yourself with the screenshot below... Super discussion after the pic!

So, I kinda think the picture speaks for itself. What do you think? A keeper? I say absolutely.... for some special lady who likes to knit socks for grandbabies and such. This guy seems nice enough, love his heart. I think it's awesome how he just put himself out there. Get down Rod! I dig his great love for TACO SALAD and I'm sure there's a nice senorita just waiting to put some hot sauce on his burrito. I hope he finds her. I hope she likes to text message.

I'm just joshin ya. Dating in and of itself takes a lot of courage. I think online dating in a different type of beast. Dangerous in ways. Some people are way more brave online than in real life and that can sometimes lead to unrealistic expectations. I'd bet a kidney Rod wouldn't have walked up to a 25 year old and said 'here's my number text me' and if he did kudos to him.  I really do hope the best for Rod that he finds what he's looking for. I was awful flattered by the message.

Queen?

Hey loves... a quick note for the moment. I'm quasi online dating again. Maybe this time, I'll actually meet one of these poor chaps. You know, if they're nice... relatively attractive and not on disability... But let me introduce you to the guy I'll never meet! While scrolling through profiles I keep seeing headlines that say "Looking for my Queen" and "Are you my Queen" and "Will treat you like a Queen" and such and every time I read it, I promise... the clip above from Coming to America pops into my head. I can not take anyone associated with this beauty seriously. I literally laugh out loud, nearly in tears, I swear! I mean "completely free from infection to be used at your discretion (at :50)".... I'm already bored with Match. I shall say though, it's much much better than Eharmony.  But please enjoy the video one more time! I hope the song is stuck in your head forever.

PS, wonder if this Oha would be available for my wedding?

Funny farm

Heylo loves! I know it's been a while. I've been busy. Seriously. Babysitting monsters, ok, 3 dogs, a cat and a goat. The goat was by far my favorite. LOL, sometimes I seriously wonder if this is real life.

Anywho, thanks to the soulful sounds of NSYNC (back when Justin rocked a yellow fro), I know see why turning 25 is so significant.

Around 25 the lighbulb goes off. You realize that you, all of your friends, your family and everyone you know should have silk pj's and share a padded room. I'm convinced around 25 everyone goes a little apeshit. I'm convinced I'll never have to open the DSM ever again because my social circle pretty much covers it all.  Dysthymic, yep... I think he has blue pjs. The Schizo is convinced that the many Misses Borderline Personality are plotting against him. And the poor bipolar is waiting for her lithium. And not be forgotten, Miss Narcissistic, the Diva makes her presence known.

I probably shouldn't be making light of the crazy. LOL, I'm sure I fit into the funny farm somewhere. It's just weird that I feel like I'm hyperaware of the crazy here recently. I don't think I have a Borderline or a Schizo in my realm of acquaintances but I definitely know Miss Narcissticic and Mr. Dysthymic.

LOL, I just had to look these up to make sure I was naming people right. Then I started to see my crazy... can someone pass the Lithium and Haldol?

Lil bit of this...

"You're getting a spouse, why do you need a gift too?" My thought of the the day. Kind of mean but you see my logic. I guess wedding registries never made much sense to me. I get the whole 'we need stuff to live part'. I understand, everyone likes nice things. But work with me here most people get married in their early to mid 20's, or at least most of my friends did, and they're broke. Most of their friends are in school for just getting out during that time. I've been in school for 1/2 of my 20s. That means I can't afford your $750 vacuum homie. That's what I'm saying. Don't be getting crazy with the registry. I know a lot of money goes into paying for a wedding so they total disregard the priceyness of the registry. Dude, I'm sending you a gift because I can't make it so how about that logic now? Huh? Whatcha gotta say now? Well, that's all I gotta say about wedding registries. Yes, I'll ignore this post when I get married and register Vera Wang china. No worries, pals, I'm waiting til my friends all get outta doctor school to get hitched. Momma didn't raise no fool.

Speaking of getting hitched, seems like everyone's doing it. Doing it meaning getting hitched (so many new engagements) and doing it as in well doing it. I have become a self proclaimed fertility goddess. If you happen to get preggo, don't blame me, I have no control over the baby making juju. It just happens. Everyone around me is having a baby! Babies, babies everywhere and I kinda love it!

Not related to babies or registries, I have a new dream folks. I want to move to Italy for a year to learn how to make proper spaghetti. Mind you, the culinary creations I make here in the western world are pretty good, I'm craving authenticity. Ok, I'm craving Europe and an excuse to give med school the dueces for a year. Perhaps I should get back to studying.. ok, if you say so. Oh yeah, major life fail.. I got a subscription to Netflix.. someone save me!

My Soul died a little...

So, in good med school fashion, I need to update my blog.. at 3 am... when I could be board studying or sleeping, says the girl who's always tired. Anywhoo, just finished watching a movie, ok you can stop judging right now. I didn't know what my life was missing until I watched No Strings Attached. Ashton Kutcher is my movie star boyfriend after all. Well you know, after Channing Tatum. Move over Demi. It was a cute little movie. I'm sad that I waited this long to see it.

It resonated a little. The lead female character is resident who's emotionally stunted and weird. For a hot minute I identified with her, then I realized it was just the scrubs. Speaking of scrubs. I just realized I own not one pair. Perhaps, I should get on getting some. Neither here nor there..back to the movie. I reccomend it. Annnnnd you get a butt shot of Mr. Demi Moore. Just saying.... Dear Ashton just does it for me. I'm not sure why. He's so average.

NSYNC asks "If I wasn't a celebrity, would you still wanna be with me".. I seriously pondered that question. I have an answer. If you weren't a celebrity, I wouldn't know who in the world you were. Justin Tim, you'd just be some 30 (probably still with a fro) something living in Tennessee. Like our paths would meet and if they did I would say "hey, look at the white boy with a fro, bless his heart" So to answer your question, JT, no.. I wouldn't still wanna be with you. Ashton, maybe.

I have to make a general comment. Most white people look alike. This is coming from the girl who gets mistaking for the only other dark skinned chick at school. In fact, Jess and I have thought to make t-shirt with our names on them so people can tell the difference. See, aside from the chocolate toned skin. We look nothing a like.

Kinda distorted images, but clearly we do not look alike. Get with it white people! But back to my point... everywhere I go, I seem to run into people that remind me of a friend I know. Generally, I can name exactly who the person looks like. Seeing as if my friends are 98% of the Caucasian variety (I'm totally not racist, I have white friends), I've come to the conclusion that white people look alike. I'm not sure why I just went on my white people look alike but I don't look like Jess rant. I'm better now.

I tried to learn Igbo one evening. I spoke all of 1 phrase. Called the paternal and was super thrilled to say "kedu, i mere" which means "how do you do?" Turns out the website I used was a different dialect than what my dad spoke so he kinda understood what I was saying. Not all is lost though. I seriously cracked up for 30 minutes while learning that phrase (shut it, I'm slow). I'm not sure why I was so amused but I was. I think it's because the guy on the website sounded like my uncle and I am terrible at Igbo. But I'd play a phrase, giggle, say the phrase, crack up hysterically and repeat. If you want a good laugh, http://www.igbo911.com/index2.htm there you go. Rosetta Stone needs to get her act together and make a program for the specific dialect of Igbo that my father and his peeps speak. Who do I need to call?

My passport keeps giving me the stink eye. As if to say 'yeah, I see how you really feel. you used me once, like 5 years ago.. that's ok.. just remember, I will expire right around the time you get your act together and use me again'. With that being said, I feel like possibly learning a new language would help me get my passport on. Ok, so the language barrier isn't really the issue. Can I make a confession? I am a very picky eater. I'm petrified of going somewhere where Mcdonald's isn't down the street. I know they have something I can eat. Dad keeps talking like he wants to go to Nigeria and take the sister and me and such. Part of me is a like, yay!! I get to meet the fam. Meet the potential husbands my uncle has found for me. I get to get down tribal style. But the eating traditions among the Igbo folks is one that makes me cringe. It is considered rude if someone cooks and you don't eat. Regardless of if you're hungry or not. You eat and most of the time the food contains tripe and random sea creatures. I'm not looking forward to it. Maybe real Nigerian food cooked in Nigeria will please my palate. Ok loves, enough rambling. Til I see you again! <3

Disclaimer: There may be sentences that don't make sense and words that don't fit. You should be used to it by now. And, as always, I don't really care :D

Greetings from the Jersey Shore

I would like to start this post with a list.

Top 5 Clues You're too Old for the Club

5. The hemline of your dress is within 3 inches of your knee

4. You recognize the songs that came out in the early 90s but that's about it.

3. 2 minutes into dancing you think "ok, where's the oxygen?"

2. By the end of the night you're on a 1st name basis with the bathroom attendant because of your stress incontinence.

1. Whenever a guy approached you, you decide to dance with him based on if he had a wristband or black x on his hand. The black x is the scarlet letter of the club, you run away screaming when approached.

The 5 types of guys I attract in the club

5) The 20 year old

4) The 20 year old with driver's licence that says he in 25. He's 6'5', and dances like this guy.........

.......and repeatedly said "this white boy can dance".. The disapproving stares the black people are giving in this video, sums up the glances I got.

3) The guy who was way too excited to be on spring break.. you know, that guy.. no, not the fist pumper.. the loud almost obnoxious but endearing guy

2) Frat Matts. Yes, I said Matts. I got blindsided by 2 of them on the dance floor. Who was stoked... yes, this girl! Hey, it was only one dance... although sooo picture worthy but who's the tool at the bar with a camera.. nope, not us! We're old, remember?

1) Clinton.... lovely Clinton. He was just my type. Looked like he washed up from the Jersey shore. He stepped in front of me, causing me to run right into his impeccably toned body. I say 'oh, excuse me' he wraps his arms around my waist and replies 'what's your name'... we exchange names... then here's the killer line ladies and gents he says 'why are you so beautiful' and i coyly reply 'baby i was born this way (thank you lady gaga)' and walked out into the night.

Truth of the story, I think Clinton was hot.. well what of him I remember. As well as a hot mess. It was dark, I was tired and may have had a drink... my memories fuzzy. I would have given ol' Clinton a chance had he not had an absent seizure on my shoulder. Alas, my first run in with a Guido was bittersweet. Although the club was packed with them.. wouldn't you know the Sitch was there? We didn't realize he was in the next club over until after he had left. Total bummer. Actually, no... not a real bummer. I believe I could contract chlamydia from sharing the same air as the Situation.

Alas, the rest of my break was uneventful. True to med school form, I studied. Walked the beach. Got an wicked tan. I'd show you but it's NSFW. I got a shark fin balloon hat! I say Spring Break was a major win.

If nothing else, spring break reminded me how much I love to travel. Anybody wanna go anywhere. Roadtrip? I'm in. Passport required, sign me up twice!! Sorry this took so long to post, med school has been pimping me out! <3

When I grow up...

I'm going to California and I will love it. While I'm there I will visit the Passion for Christ Movement. It will be grand. Why? Because they have people like this running the show... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igCj3jsbcqs

I guess I'll skip the pregnancy pact for a bit. Can't tote a baby to Cali!

Thoughts

I keep fretting about this blog. Wait, I meant forgetting. But seeing as if I have an exam on Monday, I feel the need to let you all in on the happenings of my life.

First thing's first, yoga never happened. It's still on my list of things to do when I become more limber and my schedule frees up. My schedule will be free soon!YAY! 2nd yeah is almost over... who knew. Of course, I'm totally running out of steam.

Speaking of school and such, I want to be an OB/Gyn for the rest of my life. I'm t totally cool with catching babies for like ever. I think this is the first speciality I like enough to not feel like I needed to have a background in internal medicine in case I ever wanted to change my mind.

I'm kinda addicted to http://www.jonacuff.com/stuffchristianslike/ for the sheer awesomeness of it all.

I really really really really want to go to Ireland. Any takers? I'm way beyond serious. I just flipped through a friend's photos. I'm sold. Well, with gas prices I probably should start walking but anyway, is there a little part of your heart dying to chase leprechauns. If so, join me! I won't know when until next month but if I can find a buddy, I'm outta here.

Also, a friend, unnamed, has asked me to be part of a super cool pregnancy pact. I said, heck, I have nothing better to do. Why not? So I have til July to get my baby on. I'm taking applications for baby daddies as we speak. That's all for now friends. Loves not drugs. Til next time.

Tootles!

In case you're wondering, I'm taking a blog sabbatical. I'm not sure when I'll be back. I hope 2011 is rocking out for you. I'm trying Yoga tomorrow. Perhaps I'll give you the gory details then go on my extended leave? Ok, ok, one or two more rambles from the mind before I part from you guys.

Yoga, like really? I should have thought this through properly. Everyone reading this blog knows it's a terrible idea. Injuries will ensue yet I'm totally curious. I have absolutely convinced myself that I can give Yoga an old school smack down and be on my way. That's the plan.

My 2011 has started off a little more boring than 2010. Although, 2010 involved no Yoga. I'm seeing the potential for 2011 to be crazy. I've tried to be all pensive and retrospective and recap my year but it's a all been a blur. I kinda live on the extremes of life. Those are the things I remember;the amazingly awesome and the too terrible bad. I think that's just how my mind works. Perhaps I just don't bother to take the time to remember. Or maybe this past year was too mundane to recall? Well gosh ding dang it folks, I think I've come to up with a resolution. I resolve that 2011 will be a year that I'll always remember. Here's to bustin up the boring!

I also take back my sabbatical.
